Tigger doesn’t normally instigate household barking, but will bark in response to the barks of other less obedient dogs.  The exceptions are when leaving or arriving: he normally barks and whines for a few seconds in his crate and then again in excitement when you arrive home.

He enjoys walking outside and is pretty good on a leash, only pulling a little.  He is basically house trained but has had some accidents, more because his foster mom hasn’t been picking up on his signals than anything else.  He can hold his business all day in his crate, but as he doesn’t have any destructive tendencies like chewing, he doesn’t need to be crated in his forever home.

 Tigger will need a little work with house training and basic obedience, but nothing out of the ordinary.   It is difficult to know if he could go to a house with small children or cats because he hasn’t been exposed to either in foster care, but he would definitely do fine in a house with other dogs.  He is also quite independent and would likely be okay as an only dog.

Tigger will make a great addition to any household.

The Good News!
Rosie doesn’t have a fever and the infection in her leg is completely gone. The vet is very happy with how far she has come in just a week! They changed the bandaging technique and instructed Joe (my hubby). I stood in the corner and talked to Rosie like a crazy person when they were poking and prodding at her. She just sits there and takes it like a champ! She is truly an angel! They’ve put a donut thing on her heel to make sure the bandage isn’t rubbing and the skin can heal properly and instead of sugar we’re now using a gel.

The Not-So-Good News!
The vet is worried about the toe with exposed bone and thinks that it will more than likely need to be amputated. They are also worried that even if the skin heals, that the leg could still be useless. I asked for a timeline and it’s anyone’s guess, but I am thinking it will be a couple of months before we know if the entire limb will require amputation and then that’s a whole other can of beans! Even if she can keep her leg, she’ll need extensive therapy and rehabilitation so regardless we have a long road ahead of us!

He’s a little fearful at first, until he gets to know you. He is also good with other dogs, cats, and older children.  Boo is head shy, so offer your hand and pet his chest and legs first.  

Boo’s a very playful pup, lots of energy, needs basic obedience training but is house trained and sleeps in a crate.  He’s a real lap dog, loves to with you on the couch watching tv, if he can’t convince you to go outside and throw a ball.  He does bark at strangers, squirrels and other animals outside, so might not be best in an apartment. 

Boo has found his forever home!

You see, I came from one of those shelter places…no one really knows what my story is! I can tell you one thing for sure though, I LOVE people! I get so excited when someone decides to show ME affection; I cry with happiness and roll on my back! I’ll slobber you with kisses and snuggle tight under your chin! I really love my foster Daddy, not that foster mom isn’t cool too, I guess I’m just a dude’s dude! Oh, I like my new foster brother and sisters too – I give the girls sweet licks but they can get a little bit crazy when they wrestle, chase each other and doggy play! Foster mom thinks that one day soon I’ll catch on to this and join in, but for now I just watch from the side lines! Another doggy buddy would be nice, but definitely not necessary! I like riding in the car, going for walks, and snuggling with the humans! Foster mom tells me I am one of the happiest dogs she’s ever met because my tail never stops wagging! I sleep in my crate at night without a fuss – but as you can tell from my adorable picture, I would LOVE to keep you company in the big bed! I think Foster mom wants to gush about me some more!

Oh.my.goodness! This little dog is the definition of awesome! He came to us from a shelter and I know if he could speak he would thank the Canadian Dachshund Rescue for getting him out of there! However, living in a shelter hasn’t dampened his spirits! He is one happy little dog! He is so appreciative of love and attention and has SO much to offer in return! He’s a social butterfly who loves everyone he meets, especially men! I would really like him to go to a forever home who will appreciate his amazing personality! This is the kind of dog who you should bring with you wherever you go – family functions, outside events, dog shows…etc! He’s the trusty sidekick you’ve been waiting for! He loves going for walks and to the park, he listens well, hasn’t had one accident in the house, sleeps in his crate through the night and I could go on and on! He has a very submissive personality and gets along great with other dogs!
